Book Reports
When you have finished reading and story-mapping your book, it’s time to pull everything together and write your book report. Your Story Elements Map and the completion of the attached Report Outline will fully prepare you to write your final report.
Your typed report will include a brief summary of the main characters, setting, plot, conflicts/ resolutions and theme of your selected book. Your report will also include your opinions on the story, including a persuasive argument for or against the book's inclusion in our curriculum. Your final Book Report text should be at least 5 paragraphs. Along with detail paragraphs covering characters, settings and plot, your introductory paragraph should include the theme and your concluding paragraph should include your opinion of the book and your persuasive argument for or against the book's study in 4th grade. Time will normally be given in class for some writing and revision, but you should plan on typing your report using your computer at home. Your printed report should be double spaced using 12 point Times New Roman font. To conserve paper you may print on both sides of the page. |
